Friend & Sibling Requests

At CCC Upward Soccer, we strive to create balanced teams by evaluating players through a set of questions during registration. We ask that each parent/guardian answers these questions as objectively as possible, based on how their child/teen would perform within our recreational soccer league (rather than in a different league, travel, or club team). Objectivity is key to helping us draft teams with equal skill levels. While this system is not perfect, we work hard to balance teams as fairly as possible. However, we acknowledge that some teams may win more games than others.

Friend Request Policy (Age-Based Divisions)

We understand the importance of allowing your child to play with a friend, and we will do our best to honor one friend request per child. To improve the chances of matching your child with a friend, please ensure that both families submit the same request.

Please note that some requests may not be possible to accommodate if:

  • The children fall into different age divisions,

  • They are of the opposite sex in a division that uses separate boys/girls teams, or

  • They have different practice night preferences.

For example, your child may be 8 years old (U9), while the requested friend recently turned 9 and plays in the U11 division. Our league is organized by age, not grade, so both the age and birthdate cutoff help determine division placement.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation—our goal is to create balanced, fun, and developmentally appropriate teams for every player.

Please note that multiple friend requests for the same child or team are not allowed. We kindly ask that you honor our league guidelines so we can create balanced, fun, and fair teams for everyone.

Practice Night Exclusions

Our practice nights are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. We will do our best to honor one practice-night exclusion per player. However, due to the size of our league, please understand that we cannot guarantee this request will be honored.

We are unable to accommodate specific time requests on practice nights.

If you submit both a friend request and a practice-night exclusion, please note that the practice-night exclusion will take priority if the two conflict.

If you have multiple children playing in the league, please be aware that we cannot guarantee they will have practice on the same night.

CCC Upward Leadership Team will communicate your child’s team placement, practice day/time, team name, coach, and season schedule via text and email by end of day February 21st. .

Once your child or teenager has been placed on a team, we are not able to make changes or move players to different teams due to the size of our league.

🙌 Ways to Help Beyond Coaching

It takes a team of volunteers to make CCC Upward Soccer a success — and we’d love your help!
Volunteer time is flexible based on what you can provide (once a week, every other week, or occasionally) during the soccer season (mid-March through the week before Memorial Day).

We need help with:

✅ Gameday Team
Set up fields, break down fields, assist with MC’ing, and help create a fun Saturday experience.

✅ Mowing & Field Maintenance
If you have availability during the week, we can use help mowing and maintaining the Christ Community Church sports fields.

✅ Communications & Admin Support
Help with parent communication, scheduling, and behind-the-scenes organization.
